ReplyRoyale

What is ReplyRoyale?

ReplyRoyale is a card game for your X account. Instead of a content calendar, you are dealt a hand of four or five cards. Each card names one specific move to make on X, the constraint it has to meet, and what it is worth in clout.

How a hand works

A hand is four or five cards. It is not a random draw: the deck is composed for you, from the objective you are chasing and how your account is actually performing on X. Two people chasing different goals get different hands.

You play a card by doing the thing it describes, on X, yourself. Nothing is posted for you.

What is on a card

Every card carries a name, the set and type it belongs to, the move, the constraint that move has to satisfy, how often it can be played, and its clout value. Taking Reverse Engineer from the launch deck:

Move
Save a keyword from a 500+ like niche post, then use it.
Constraint
Keyword saved in-app must appear in a post within 7 days
Set · Type
Studio · Action
Frequency
Common · 1/day

+12 clout

The constraint is the part that matters. “Reply to someone” is not a card; “Keyword saved in-app must appear in a post within 7 days” is.

Sets and types are two different things

Cards are filed on two independent axes, and they are easy to confuse because Trap appears on both.

Sets are where a card comes from — Signal, Network, Studio, Disrupt, Trap. A set is the part of your presence the card works on.

Types are what a card does in play — Action, Reaction, Upgrade, Finisher, Setup, Trap. A type is the role it takes in a hand.

So Reverse Engineer is a Studio card of type Action: it comes from the Studio set, and it behaves as an Action when you play it.

Clout, and the limits on it

Playing a card scores clout. On the launch deck that runs from +8 to +15, weighted by how much the move costs you — talking to someone who does not follow you is worth more than posting into your own feed.

Cards carry frequency limits — 1/day, 1/week, 1/season. A card scores once per its own limit, so posting twenty times does not play the card twenty times.

Traps subtract

A card can also subtract. Botwork is a Trap — “Automated follow / reply / DM patterns.” It scores −30 clout, detected automatically from your public activity.

A hand of five is not four cards plus a trap — the fifth card can be anything. Traps are simply part of the deck.

Where it is up to

ReplyRoyale has not launched yet. There is no app to try, no pricing, and no launch date announced. The waitlist below is the whole of it: one email, on launch day, and nothing else. Or follow @SidneyCur, where the build is posted as it happens.

Be dealt in at launch.
