How to play
ReplyRoyale is a card game for your X account. Instead of a content calendar you are dealt a hand of cards, and each one names a move to make on X, the exact condition that move has to meet, and what it is worth in clout. You play a card by doing the thing — on X, yourself. Nothing here posts for you, and there is nothing to submit.
The loop
A hand is dealt
Four or five cards, composed from the objective you are chasing and how your account is actually performing. It is not a random draw, and two people chasing different things are dealt different cards.
You play a card on X
Go and do what the card says, in your own voice, from your own account. One card is a good day — you do not have to play them all, and there is no button here that plays one for you.
The sweep reads your account
Once a night, ReplyRoyale reads your public activity and looks for the plays itself. You never claim a card, paste a link, or upload a screenshot. A card the game cannot read is not in the deck.
What it finds banks as clout
Every card the sweep can confirm pays its printed value into your ledger. Anything it cannot confirm simply stays on the table.
A fresh hand, in the same breath
The sweep settles the hand it finds and deals the next one in the same breath. That is why a verdict is always about the cards you were holding yesterday, never the ones in front of you.
What a card asks of you
A card is a move plus a constraint, and the constraint is the whole card. “Engage with someone” is not a card. Engage First is:
- Move
- Engage with someone who does not follow you.
- Constraint
- Target not in your follower set
- Set · Type
- Network · Reaction
- Frequency
- Common · 1/day
- Scores
- +12 clout
Meet the constraint and the card is played. Miss it and it is not — a card does not pay a fraction of itself for a near miss.
Sets and types are two different things
Cards are filed on two independent axes, and they are easy to confuse because Trap appears on both.
Sets are where a card comes from — Signal, Network, Studio, Disrupt, Trap. A set is the part of your presence the card works on.
Types are what a card does in play — Action, Reaction, Upgrade, Finisher, Setup, Trap. A type is the role it takes in a hand.
So Engage First is a Network card of type Reaction: it comes from the Network set, and it behaves as a Reaction when you play it.
Failing a card costs you nothing
A card you never play is not spent. A card you play badly withholds its clout and does nothing else: there is no penalty, and it is not taken off the table. Only a card that actually scored goes away, and only until its printed limit reopens it.
Traps are the exception
A trap subtracts. It is never dealt to you and never sits in your hand — it appears on the night the sweep finds it, which is the only moment it means anything.
Botwork is a trap — “Automated follow / reply patterns.” It scores −30 clout, detected automatically from your public activity.
A hand of five is not four cards plus a trap — the fifth card can be anything. Traps are simply part of the deck.
Two clocks, and the one everyone confuses
The sweep is nightly, and it is not a deadline. It is simply when your account is read.
A card’s frequency is how often it may score — 1/day, 1/week, 1/season — counted from the last time it paid. Pin the Winner is a weekly card: it keeps its seat until you play it or its window closes, so you really do have the week. Daily cards are re-dealt each morning.
Your objective shapes the deck
You pick what you are chasing, and the deck is composed for it. Change it whenever you like — it takes effect at your next hand, because the one in front of you is already dealt.
Clout, standings, and stepping out
Clout is the running total of everything your cards have ever paid. On the launch deck a card runs from +8 to +15, weighted by what the move costs you — talking to someone who does not follow you is worth more than posting into your own feed.
The leaderboard is read straight off that ledger, so a rank is a consequence of plays and nothing else.
You can pause the game at any time. A paused account is not read and is not dealt to, and your clout stays exactly where you left it.
Not holding a hand yet?
ReplyRoyale has not opened to everyone. There is no pricing and no launch date announced — the waitlist below is the whole of it: one email, on launch day, and nothing else. Or follow @SidneyCur, where the build is posted as it happens.
